Friday was what is called a “Park(ing) day” in
Dronningens gate in the middle of Oslo city center. This day is a yearly event
worldwide. On this day artists, designers and other people can transform
parking spaces into public parks for one day. The architectural firm Dronninga
Landskap was the host.
It was really amazing to walk through the small
park, with flowers, fruits, hammocks and grass.
I think people enjoyed it, as I did.
Thanks to Dronninga Landskap who
made it happen.
It is actually possible for any organization to apply to the
local authorities for permission to borrow parts of a street to arrange a
public event. I think that more people should do this. It’s wonderful to have
more parks in the city even if they’re there only for a day.
